What to Expect

Steps to Expect

1. Initial Phone Call

We'll start with a 15-minute phone call to understand why you're seeking therapy and to determine if I'm a good fit for your needs. During this call, I'll ask some basic questions to get a sense of the support you're looking for, and I'll be available to answer any questions you may have. If we are a good fit, we'll schedule an intake session. If not, I'll do my best to help you find the support you need.

2. Intake Session

Our formal sessions will begin with an intake session. This longer session is designed to explore who you are, why you are who you are, and to identify your goals for therapy. We might create a timeline of your past, discuss solution-focused coping mechanisms, or simply provide a space for you to vent your pent-up emotions.

3. Regular Sessions

After the intake session, we'll move into regular sessions. These typically start on a weekly basis, though the frequency may vary depending on your goals and needs. We'll have occasional check-ins to ensure you feel supported.

4. Progress and Maintenance

As therapy progresses, there will come a point where your goals are met, and therapy no longer feels as central to your life. This indicates that your past is no longer disrupting your present, and you're effectively processing your experiences in the moment. At this stage, we'll create a safety plan for check-ins and transition to a maintenance or as-needed therapy schedule.
